Stewardship & Events Manager
The Stewardship & Events Manager is responsible for developing donor engagement strategies for the UW College of Education’s Haring Center through special events, creative stewardship, and annual giving strategies. The position will participate as a member of the Haring Center Advancement team and will work closely with the Haring Center’s Associate Director for Advancement to help secure gifts from individuals, organizations, corporations and foundations. This position will have significant direct contact with the Center’s diverse internal and external audiences including parents, alumni families, friends, College and University leadership, Haring Center staff, volunteers, and donors. This position also communicates with donors regarding annual fund-level gifts, endowment agreements, event logistics, meetings and other information – including confidential gift information.
Marketing & Communications Specialist
The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the creation and management of content for internal and external audiences, with a particular emphasis on driving day-to-day storytelling across multiple channels. This includes, assisting the Director with building a dynamic social media presence for both the College and the Haring Center involving content creation that develops a clear and authentic “voice” as well as strategic scheduling and attention to analytics; researching and writing stories for monthly e-newsletters; building and scheduling ad-hoc and recurring e-communications using Marketo and/or Jeto; and project management assistance, as needed. This is a writing-intensive role that requires knowledge of AP Stylebook and Chicago Manual of Style as well as fluency in social media and email marketing.
Under the direction of the Director for Marketing & Communications, this position will assist with raising awareness about research and initiatives that includes writing copy in support of events, identifying stories of interest, highlighting College and Haring Center efforts through social media, updating websites with content, and supporting frontline fundraisers to sustain donor engagement.
