Dr. Kathleen Artman Meeker

Dr. Kathleen Artman Meeker has worked extensively with educators and communities to make sure all children get the experiences they deserve.

Kathleen earned her Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in Special Education and is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Washington in Seattle. She is the director of research at the Haring Center for Inclusive Education on the UW campus, an interdisciplinary, research and training center focused on improving outcomes for children of all abilities.

Kathleen began her career as an early childhood special educator after completing a master’s degree from the Ohio State University. She has served as a teacher, coach, researcher, and teacher educator. She is committed to understanding professional development experiences that make a difference in the lives of teachers and children. Kathleen presents regularly to local, state, and national audiences on a wide range of topics. She frequently speaks with early childhood professionals and program leaders about best practices in coaching and understanding young children’s behavior.
